At the beginning of November, the Austrian digital security specialist CRYPTAS opened an office in Hengelo. With this move, the company is pushing ahead with its expansion throughout Northern Europe. Oost NL advised the company during the start-up phase and is now helping it to establish itself in the region. Two people are currently employed at the office in Twente; in the coming years, CRYPTAS expects to expand to twenty employees.
CRYPTAS is committed to making the digital world safer through applied cryptography. The company serves more than 40,000 customers in 100 countries with its innovative solutions and products, based on the technological pillars of public key infrastructure, smart cards and the associated management systems.
As Country Director CRYPTAS Benelux, Michel R. Versteeg will be heading the Dutch office: “CRYPTAS is a pioneer in technology and a market leader in the field of protecting digital identities, strong authentication, encryption and qualified digital signatures that are eIDAS compliant. In the future, we will be able to offer on-site representation so as to better meet customers’ security needs. To further expand our location, we are currently looking for dedicated professionals who are keen to work at a high international level in these future-oriented fields.”
“Locating in Hengelo was a logical choice for us; both the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences are nearby, which means that talent is on our doorstep. There are also many high-tech companies in Twente that complement our profile, so we are very much looking forward to engaging in fascinating collaborations. Oost NL has helped us by highlighting the advantages of the east of the Netherlands and introducing us to relevant networks,” says Versteeg.
Bart van ’t Ende, Tech project manager at Oost NL: “CRYPTAS is a leading player in Europe when it comes to digital security – an area that is becoming more important every day in our rapidly digitizing world. CRYPTAS’ decision to settle in Hengelo is good news for the region and for talented IT professionals looking for new challenges.”
