Singaporean company produces rugged electric bicycles
Singapore-based Coast Cycles designs, develops and produces high-end, fat-tire e-bikes with a distinctive character. To expand its European reach, the company is opening a sales and marketing office in Arnhem (The Netherlands). Oost NL supported the company in its search for a location.
The e-bikes of Coast Cycles are eye-catching. With their wide tyres they are also suitable for rough surfaces like dirt roads. Coast Cycles already has customers in Europe and wants to grow further. The branch office in Arnhem will contribute to that.
Via the commercial party Markets & Partners and NFIA Singapore, the company came into contact with Oost NL. Ben van den Broek, project manager Tech & Energy at Oost NL considers Coast Cycles a valuable new company in the region: "The market for e-bikes is growing. And not only in the field of 'normal' bikes. Coast Cycles serves a specific segment of the market." In time, the company expects to have room for seven jobs in Arnhem. The company will establish itself in the ADD Businesspoint.
Mr Jansen Tan, Director of Coast Cycles and Ryan Chong, Business Development of Coast Cycles are pleased with the expansion in Europe. "We already have a distribution office in Amsterdam. Now we have a sales office in Arnhem. We see that the demand for our bikes is increasing in Europe. We can respond to this with this expansion. Thanks to Oost NL and NFIA, we were able to move quickly despite Covid, so we can now use our new office."
