Global leader in premium footwear and apparel to expand distribution center in Almelo

Aspen Real Estate Investments announced that it’s developing the approximately 13,000 square meter expansion in collaboration with APF International and Timberland Europe. Upon completion, the distribution center will have a floor area of 52,000 square meters.

According to Aspen Real Estate Investments, the expansion of the distribution center will allow Timberland Europe to facilitate current and future growth. The expansion will also enable Timberland Europe to take steps towards further optimization and modernization of the logistics processes by implementing a new high-tech order picking system.

Timberland initially chose to locate its European distribution center in Almelo for its close proximity to the Port of Rotterdam. This location ensures that Timberland’s products arrive to European markets within two days of travel time. Timberland’s European distribution center is also BREEAM® certified, featuring a number of environmentally conscious attributes. In fact, the distribution facility gets 100% of its energy from wind power.
