One of the many ways Oost NL supports companies in their international business activities is to organize matchmaking activities at international tradeshows and conferences. Examples of this support in 2016 were the Conference for Health IT (conhIT) in Berlin and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference in Chicago (US - of which Oost NL had already targeted as focus market).

The RSNA conference is the most important annual meeting of radiologists, clinical personnel and other medical professionals. Each year Oost NL organizes a trade mission, together with its partners at the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA). The physical manifestation of this cooperation is an exhibitor’s booth with the slogan ‘Invest in Holland’, where in addition to promoting the benefits of the Netherlands as a destination for international business development, they offer on-the-spot support for the exhibiting Dutch companies. 10 companies from the Netherlands traveled together with Oost NL: seven as exhibitors and three as visitors. Together with representatives from the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Chicago, Oost NL was able to support the Dutch companies through matchmaking activities. In addition, the RSNA gave these companies the opportunity to present their radiology equipment and services to potential partners. In this manner, Oost NL played an important role in bringing potential cooperative businesses in contact with each other.

Similarly, Oost NL organized a mission, together with international partners, to the Conference for Health IT (conhIT) Berlin. This conference provides an outstanding opportunity for innovative companies in the healthcare industry to bring international attention to their knowledge, products and services.

Building on contacts

The goal of Oost NL is to provide continuous support for businesses in achieving their plans for international business development. In addition to the above examples, Oost NL paid a visit to the MedTech tradeshow, a frequent meeting place, in order maintain and build on existing contacts with healthcare companies and other relevant partners in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
