Internationalisering

Yili

Yili, China’s (and Asia’s) largest dairy company, opened the new innovation centre in Wageningen in September 2018. The centre is located in the ultramodern Plus Ultra building on the Wageningen Campus. This centre’s goal is to expand the collaboration with European companies, universities and research institutes. Oost NL supported Yili with introductions to the network on a local, provincial and national level.

The Chinese Yili opened its first foreign dairy factory in New Zealand in 2014 and launched its European Innovation centre in the Netherlands in the same year. This is the first foreign Innovation centre of the Chinese dairy industry. Its goal is to extend collaborations with universities and research institutes in several ways.

At the time, Oost NL supported Yili in the choice for Wageningen and has been involved in the company since then, among others by giving network introductions on local, provincial and national level. The Wageningen location is focused on innovation; thus Yili works to improve baby food products which is a growing market in China. The in 2018 newly opened innovation centre of the diary producer is currently experiencing a strong growth.

The company is open to cooperating with companies through its European branch. Chances to access the Chinese market are possible for Dutch companies that are operating in the innovative Food industry.
