DeltaProto expands to Enschede for rapid prototyping of printed circuit boards
DeltaProto, a specialist in rapid prototyping of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), is opening a new location in Enschede. By enabling real-life testing in the early stages of development, the company accelerates the creation of innovative products. Oost NL supported DeltaProto in establishing its presence in Enschede.

PCBAs: Essential Building Blocks
A PCBA is a board on which electronic components such as chips, resistors, and capacitors are soldered. Copper traces on these typically green circuit boards conduct electronic signals, making them a crucial component in virtually all modern devices and industrial machinery. DeltaProto delivers PCBA prototypes within a week, significantly speeding up development processes.
Collaboration with Fraunhofer Innovation Platform
DeltaProto, originally based in Broek in Waterland near Amsterdam, is now expanding its operations. Michiel Wanninkhof, CTO of DeltaProto, explains: “Over the past few years, we’ve grown significantly. Now it’s time for the next step. Twente is a hub for research and development in electronics and mechatronics, making it a logical choice for a new support and production location.”

The new site is located within the facilities of the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Twente (FIP-AM@UT). This platform supports the manufacturing industry in (East) Netherlands with applied research and cutting-edge production technologies.
Ian Gibson, Director of the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Twente, highlights the collaboration: “One of our core strengths is helping businesses innovate. To stay competitive, companies need to enhance their flexibility during product design. While agile development has been standard in software for over a decade and 3D printing has transformed mechanical prototyping, electronics prototyping still faces challenges. DeltaProto offers an innovative solution for this.”
Gerrald Korenromp, advisor Tech at Oost NL, adds: “DeltaProto perfectly fits into Twente’s systems engineering ecosystem. Companies designing and manufacturing complex systems often struggle with prototyping PCBAs. Traditional manufacturers focus on series production, which leads to high startup costs. DeltaProto offers a solution that aligns better with a flexible and iterative way of working, bridging the gap between R&D and series production."
Support from Oost NL
Oost NL supported DeltaProto in connecting with the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform and assisted in preparing applications for European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) subsidies. Additionally, Oost NL introduced DeltaProto to relevant partners in the Gelderland and Overijssel regions.
Official Opening on March 20
DeltaProto invites interested parties to an open house on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 16:00 to 18:30 at Hengelosestraat 701 in Enschede. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the team and explore the technology behind DeltaProto’s fast and flexible PCBA prototyping service.
