Canadian T&D Diagnostics establishes European hub in Zutphen

The company chose the region due to its long-standing partnership with Dutch Diagnostics, a well-established name in the diagnostics sector. The Zutphen site will serve as the European hub for development, production, and sales. The investment was supported by Oost NL and the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA).

Advancing Diagnostics Across Europe and Africa

With its new location, T&D Diagnostics is set to accelerate access to innovative In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) products across Europe and Africa. Activities at the site include the development, production, marketing, and distribution of diagnostic tests, devices, and consumables for human use. The company is also exploring opportunities in veterinary and environmental diagnostics.

Matthias Volk, CEO of T&D Diagnostics, explains: “Our strategy is clear — expand sales, production, and development through a new, central European hub. We’ve chosen the Netherlands, and specifically Gelderland, because of the outstanding support we’ve received from Oost NL and the NFIA. Fast, Accessible Health Testing

A core mission of T&D Diagnostics is to make health testing more accessible. One of its innovations includes a wellness test that provides insights into physical and mental health through a simple urine sample. The tests are user-friendly, painless, and affordable — supporting accessible care, cost-efficiency, and societal productivity.

A Strategic Regional Collaboration

The new Zutphen site is being constructed next to Dutch Diagnostics, led by the second-generation Govaers family. This regional powerhouse has been a trusted partner to T&D Diagnostics for many years.

Support by Oost NL and NFIA

T&D Diagnostics received extensive support from Oost NL and the NFIA in setting up its Dutch operations. This included guidance on legal and tax matters, subsidies, opening a bank account, and visa arrangements for employees.

The company also gained access to international trade missions — including to Ukraine — and was introduced to key partners in Eastern Netherlands. This trusted partnership continues beyond the opening phase.
