Kalsec establishes new R&D centre in Wageningen

Kalsec, a US-based supplier of natural food ingredients, has opened a research and development hub in the heart of Food Valley, Wageningen. The company's decision to set up shop in the region is part of their commitment to contribute to addressing global challenges, particularly in the shift towards a more sustainable food system. Oost NL, in close collaboration with Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and Wageningen Campus assisted Kalsec in establishing their new office.

Contributing to Sustainable Food Solutions

"By establishing our R&D centre in the heart of Food Valley, we aim to strengthen our position in the market and contribute to sustainable food solutions through our portfolio of natural colours, taste and sensory, food protection and food ingredients solutions. We chose Wageningen Campus  because of its excellent reputation in the field of food and its strong network with research institutes and companies," says Julie Heine, Kalsec’s President and Chief Commercial Officer. "Oost NL provided us with valuable assistance in establishing our operations in Wageningen. They introduced us to relevant partners, which allowed us to quickly develop a strong local network," Heine concludes.

With a fact-finding trip, Oost NL gave Kalsec an impression of the Food Valley. "We are very happy that Kalsec has chosen our region for their R&D centre.
