Wageningen University & Research, Radboudumc, Radboud Universiteit and imec Netherlands are pooling their resources in an innovative partnership in Gelderland called ‘Smart Food & Health.’ The initiative is an answer to societal challenges on how to promote health issues, sustainable food production and adapting to climate change.
The collaborative partners are making plans to work together on the topics food, agriculture and health in a new innovation hub in Gelderland. The planned activities run the gamut from development of personal, preventative tools for managing health, to agricultural solutions ensuring optimal vegetable growth through data delivered through microchip sensors. This intensive cooperation by these organizations, supported by the East Netherlands Development Agency (Oost NL), is expected to provide a significant boost to the region’s economy.
